Modern Dance Collaboration
WHO WE ARE
Vitality Dance Project is a modern dance collaboration between Salem State University Dance alumni Kelsey Blanchette and Lindsey McGovern. Developed in 2019, Vitality explores the dynamic and athletic movement through the collaborators and allows them to share their love for dance with the public.
Kelsey Blanchette is a graduate of Salem State University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Dance. During her time at Salem State, she was an active member, choreographer, dancer, and officer for Salem Dance Ensemble and Repertory Dance Theatre. In 2017 she was awarded the Creativity Award for Dance, the highest honor in the arts at Salem State University, as well as inducted into the National Honor Society of Dance of the NDEO.
Kelsey received the bulk of her dance training from Dance Progressions of Londonderry, NH. Kelsey is also a member of Allo Movement Project and Saving Grace Dance Ensemble, as well as an instructor at BoSoma School of Dance and Enchanted Dance Academy.
Lindsey McGovern is currently the owner/director of Enchanted Dance Academy in Winchester and is about to begin her fourth year in business. She graduated from Salem State University with a Bachelor of Science in Dance in 2015. There, she choreographed & performed for Salem Dance Ensemble and Repertory Dance Theatre and served as the student coordinator for Salem Dance Ensemble.
She is currently a theatre educator at Five Star Theatre Company (Reading MA) and choreographs for Coolidge Middle School and Venturing Theatricals (Reading MA). She was most recently seen on stage as a performer and choreographer in the Salem Arts Festival as well as in the Salem State University Dance Alumni concert.
